The good: this is supposedly Francis Ford Coppola's final picture. That fact alone needs to be enough recommendation to be curious as heck what the maestro (The Godfather, Apocalypse Now) has created for us viewers.
The bad: Coppola wasnt pleased with the batsh*)tcrazy description of his swan song movie, but it definitely IS totally out of whack and like nothing we have ever seen before from this director who wrote, produced and directed it himself. With an absolute star cast of actors and beautiful photography. Will this be the magnum opus of Francis Ford Coppola's carreer?
What made me curious the most was the storyline of Megalopolis (as a symbol for America) which is in absolute decay and just like Rome wasnt built in one day, Rome didnt fall in one day either.
Releasing a "batsh*(tcrazy)" movie about America's DOWNFALL in the theatres just around the American november presidential elections, during a period in which America is already in structural financial, cultural and social decline and upheaval, THAT timing of the release of THIS particular story will (without a doubt) further cement Coppola's reputation at stirring up controversies by letting us viewers have a look inside America's dark and megalomaniacal society...
